There are so many awesome places to eat in Fort Myers Beach! It’s one of the reasons I think it’s the best beach in Florida. And one of the reasons I keep coming back here and bringing new friends and family to this little slice of heaven on Florida’s Gulf Coast. One of the things I love most about Fort Myers Beach is that most of the restaurants are locally owned. There are a bunch of restaurants I keep planning on trying (I’m looking at you Eidelweiss Burger and Shucker’s) but I keep coming back to my tried and true favorites.

Best Breakfast in Fort Myers Beach – Heavenly Biscuit

Small house painted in colorful inks and blues, the Heavenly Biscuit is the best place to get breakfast in Ft Myers Beach

You’ll need a hearty breakfast before you spend long, lazy days playing on the soft sand beach. I think the best breakfast in Fort Myers Beach is at Heavenly Biscuit. This teeny little cottage is conveniently located across the street from The Neptune Inn which is the only place I stay in FMB. The building may be small, but the biscuits are huge and delicious!

The biscuits as Heavenly Biscuit are flaky and tender and melt in your mouth. They are the perfect vehicle for breakfast sandwiches or slathered in creamy gravy. I also love their home fries that are crispy on the outside, yet pillowy soft on the inside. And ya gotta try one of their sinful cinnamon or pecan rolls with frosting poured from a pitcher when you order.

Places to Eat Fort Myers Beach – Nervous Nellie’s

There’s nothing like eating on the water while at the beach. Nervous Nellie’s is a fun place to eat fresh, local seafood and fun cocktails. Their menu is massive and features seafood, sandwiches, burgers, salads, steaks, and more. Got a picky eater? This is the place to go because there is something for everyone. I can’t say no to their crispy jumbo scallops and coconut onion rings.

Nervous Nellie’s Fort Myers is a must try!

Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille – Ft. Myers Beach

I’m kicking myself for not discovering this great restaurant in Fort Myers Beach sooner! Doc Ford’s says they offer the best waterfront dining in Fort Myers Beach and they aren’t kidding. Sitting on Estero Bay, diners are afforded gorgeous views of Matanzas Pass where shrimp boats bring in their bounty.

The menu at Doc Ford’s includes Florida seafood with a Caribbean spin. Everything we tried was outstanding. Doc Ford’s famous fish fingers are hands down the best fried fish I’ve ever tried. and the Captiva crab cakes were tasty but the real star on this plate was the fresh and crunchy jicama coleslaw. You’ll find a raw bar, inventive salads, sandwiches, seafood, as well as several meat options if you don’t do seafood. We all agreed this was the best seafood in Fort Myers Beach and everyone at our table left happy!

The Salty Crab Bar & Grill

There are lots of Fort Myers beach restaurants on the water. One of my favorites is The Salty Crab Bar & Grill. Here you’ll find some of the best seafood in Fort Myers Beach and amazing views. Part of the restaurant and the bar are partially inside and the remaining tables sit on a deck and directly on the beach. Situated next to the pier in Fort Myers Beach, this is a fantastic place to see the sunset.

Seafood is the star of the menu and there are grilled, fried, and broiled options as well as salads, pastas, and even seafood tacos. I love the coconut shrimp but am tempted to get the mahi-mahi next time after sampling some on my most recent visit. There is a also a great kids menu in the Fort Myers Beach location for the little one.

Tuckaway Cafe

Looking to try something a little bit different in Fort Myers Beach? Head to The Tuckaway Cafe for one of their delicious leige wafels (not a typo). A leige wafel is made with yeasted dough creating a denser waffel than what you may be used to. Get one topped with local homemade mango jam and whipped cream and you’ll find the perfect combination of Florida tropics meets European history.

Prefer a savory breakfast? The Tuckaway Cafe is a great place to get breakfast sandwiches in Fort Myers Beach. They feature a variety of sandwiches that can be made with a bagel for breakfast or multi-grain or brioche bun for lunch. Their lunch menu also includes fresh seafood, soups, and salads. We also enjoy getting an afternoon cocktail here. Everything is delicious!

Ray’s Pizza – Best Pizza in Fort Myers Beach

Whether you want to eat pizza at their location in the heart of Times Square or have it delivered to enjoy by the pool, the best pizza in Fort Myers Beach is at Ray’s Pizza. Their New York style pizzas are huge and can be ordered by the pie or slice. You can build your own or order from one of Ray’s specialty pizzas including Great White, Neapolitan Primo, or Ray’s Special. Their menu also includes appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and desserts.

Rays Pizza – 118 Crescent Street, Fort Myers Beach (239) 765-7437

Best Ice Cream in Fort Myers Beach – Royal Scoop

Enjoying ice cream as it melts onto your hand is a beach vacation rite of passage. Royal Scoop has been delivering happiness to their customers since 1979. The service alone at Royal Scoop is enough reason to visit this favorite, but their ice cream is delicious as well. And the scoops are HUGE!

From walk-up restaurants to dine dining, Fort Myers beach has plenty of awesome places to eat!
